Kellyville Rd Hillclimb

First day out for 'Ugly Brute' and first time for camera-person Julie and the snapper camera. First I had to park the car. Then Julie had to find out how to pan. It was very fast for a 1928 car, and generally beat the shutter button. The car went reliably, and showed up a few minor things that need adjusting, like the quarter turn slop in the steering and almost total lack of brakes. Fun day, amongst some very interesting cars.

More on Model A's

Thought you might like to see this page with a model A assembled and driven away in 8 minutes!.

Or this one, the 2005 winner of the Great Race 2005 - 4000 Miles - 3rd Day - From Washington DC to Tacoma Wa.

Nice Sky tonight

It was supposed to rain tonight, but I don't think so from this sky. Even the Norfolk pine is looking pretty good! If I hadn't sold the telescope I might've stayed up till midnight and got a shot of Saturn! Stay nice, weather, for Sunday's Kellyville Rd Hillclimb with the HRSCC.

More on Model A Specials

As you can see, modifying Model A cars has been done for years and is still popular in the US. You can almost see where Jim Baird's gifted inspiration came from!

Cumulo-Nimbus & drifters

It's always interesting to watch a cumulo-nimbus stormcloud form. This one developed a waterspout over Tiritiri Matangi Island.

We watched some drifters at Pukekohe on Monday. Glad they are there and not in our street.
