Alfriston Antique & Car Show

It was a fairly poorly attended inaugural affair, as many people who might have been there were at the V8s at Pukekohe. But Ugly Brute was there with about 4 other Model A's.

This Model A Phaeton (soft top) was pretty much as Henry Ford made it, is a daily runner and the owner has had it since 1949!

This one is an immaculately restored example of a Tudor. (A Tudor has two doors and a Forder 4 doors :-)

Here is the quail radiator cap, offered as an option by Ford in those days. It has a red liquid thermometer in the middle that can be seen by the driver as a temperature gauge.

This car was a Crossly made in Manchester in 1914, the only one in the country. You don't see chrome naked ladies on the radiator these days!

This one is a Jaguar Special, new on the road after 30 years thinking and 4 years work. The owner has hand-made the chassis and radiator grill, as well as the rest of it.

Puss-puss's tail

Poor pussy's tail is bent and won't point up in the air anymore. It looks more like a question mark. We are hoping it will fix itself. It doesn't seem to bother her and she doesn't mind us checking it (it feels normal). It was a very expressive tail. Any experts care to comment?

Update 19th April - the tail is pretty much straight again! It must have been a bit stunned in the middle.

Pukekohe SCCNZ Sprint 16th April

Ugly Brute was there, along with various family members.

Gary, the tow-truck driver was very disrespectful and said he had put in a booking for me for 11:30. Ha-ha, I didn't need a tow, but the latest MG-F did.

Vintage Racers

Thought you all might like this one.

Tomorrow is Sports Car Club sprint meeting at Pukekohe, they may or may not let me run without rollcage and seatbelt.

I have been busy reviving the old seized engines that I was given as car spares. One is running OK already. The second one is about a week away from startup. The third engine has a split in the block, so will never run and is being used for donor parts. I will sell the second engine.
