Friday's Planes
Nice sunny day for an hour at the airport. A Dash-8 with 1/200 sec prop blur, and a departing Eva-Air 777.
There are always some 767's coming in.
This Air Pacific high performance 737 looks good. And a helicopter held up by a stick!

Birds
Took unsuccessful pics of Tuis and various other things, but these two worked.
Those Plovers are very hard to get near.

Propeller Blur
This is fun, 1/250 sec makes very satisfactory propellers. You get a few reject shots from camera shake, though.
A couple of other planes came out pretty sharp, too. Boeing 767 ZK-NCI, and that QANTAS 737 has not had any fiddling done with colors, that's as it came out of the camera. Nice eh?
A320 Airbus, ZK-OJN.

Planes at Auckland Airport
It was showery with a cold south-westerly blowing. But not cold enough for this guy who apparently feels he has to carry a burden with him. He wasn't watching planes, probably thinking about Easter. Perhaps it was the Second Coming. Would Jesus be followed by a van with a flashing light?
Here's a Star Alliance A320.
Had a play with ISO settings to see how the propellors looked: The first (Beech 19) is ISO 1600, the second (Dash 8) ISO 200.
This little guy did an approach then pulled away without landing, probably to avoid a $1000 bill. Airliners.net tells me it is a Beech76 Duchess from Ardmore Flying School.
A Britten-Norman Islander did the usual swing over the carpark, this one is apparently operated by Wings over Whales Ltd from Kaikoura.
And the usual 767's. It was getting dark and rainy at this point and I called it a day.

More Botanical Gardens
It's only ordinary stuff, but it's fun capturing an instant.
The sun was getting low and making nice shadows.
Magpies were busy.
And some quail.
Ducks, of course.
And Julie's favourorite duck (after the Paradise ducks, still unseen).
When I figure out this camera, I will disable the auto focus and catch some Welcome Swallows.
If you are a species of birdlife, you need to co-exist on this pond -
here's Pukeko, Shag, Ducks,
and Geese, with those annoying busy Pukeko chasing each other.
