Blackbird's Lunchtime

The baby blackbirds that were in the feijoa tree nest are hopping about being fed. Mother hops down and brings back delicious worms. (500 ASA was too slow for these pics in the shade).

you might want to try the "shutter speed < 1/focal length" rule. The d70 also has an auto iso function if you're taking photos where the light is variable - you set a minimum allowable shutter speed (like 1/60th for the 50mm lens) and the camera boosts the ISO to suit. It doesn't work with flash though...
