Stratford-Upon-Avon

With over 200 pictures in the camera it's not very easy to download now, and it costs £1 ($NZ3) per 15 minutes in the YHAs.

We have a Vauxhall Corsa 4-door car now, it's pretty much identical to the Toyota with big bulky view-blocking window frames containing airbags. It does not have the silly 'press the clutch down to crank', instead it has a silly indicator that needs pushing to opposite direction to cancel, usually resulting in the wrong direction blinking - and so on.

In Ireland the Give-Way signs show 'Yield'. We were amused to see under one of these 'Yield to weaving cyclists'. It would seem that a couple of Guinesses lets you own the road!

We checked out Shakespeare stuff yesterday, and a 300AD Roman Villa in the Cotswolds - interesting things, in very pretty villages.

Everything is very expensive, even the YHA dinners main-courses are £7 each ($NZ21) so we are self-catering with microwave dinners.

Comments:
You may also have seen "Géill Slí" signs; the text is Irish for "give way".

The "yield to weaving cyclists" sign is part of a tradition of insanity of local planners when it comes to road planning for cyclists. Luckily, it's a rectangular sign with no regulatory effect, so it's safe to ignore it (unless you're a cyclist, in which case your life depends on ignoring it).
